Introduction

Dear Business Partners,

At the beginning of the new year, I would like to welcome to you to the current edition of our Client Engagement Newsletter.

In this edition, we offer some insights into the critical supply chain risk for aviation products and take a closer look at "aerotoxic syndrome", which describes a situation in which contaminated air is circulated in the cabin through the air-conditioning system.

Stricter regulatory controls for executive bodies in Europe have led to increased liability risks for individual members of those bodies, and hence to rising D&O requirements. An overview of the extent of this liability can be found in the ecoDA/AIG Report "Guide to Directors‘ Duties and Liabilities".

A terrorist attack can hit a company in different ways, ranging from injured employees to property damage and interruptions to business processes and supply chains. Our article "Global Terrorism" looks at the different aspects of risk minimisation. Another article focuses on the energy policy relationship between the EU and Russia, possible ways of reducing the dependency and the extent to which this opens up new perspectives.

The purpose of the article on „Fidelity Guarantee Insurance“ is to raise awareness of bank transfer fraud by telephone, as fraudsters are often only successful because employees do not adhere to internal control measures. The article shows how such situations can be prevented or limited.

Our interactive AIG Multinational Program Design Tool addresses the fundamental questions asked by many risk managers regarding the development of multinational programs. This free design tool is now available in German, and offers extensive decision-making concepts to local multinational customers.

We thank you for your interest in our company and hope you enjoy this edition of the newsletter.

I would also like to take this opportunity, also on behalf of my colleagues and employees, to wish you a very happy, prosperous and healthy 2016.

Sincerely,

Stephan Lehnen
